Driving in the rainy season, beware! Experiencing hydroplaning or losing control. If such symptoms occur, drivers should follow these practices:
1. If driving on a straight road and at low speed, only a slight loss of control will occur. Do not try to control everything fully, whether braking or turning the steering wheel fully. Absolutely do not do that. 2. If driving on the road and hydroplaning occurs due to sudden acceleration, three types of symptoms will occur:
2.1 The cause originates from the front wheels - The advice for the front wheels is that the chance of the car spinning is high. You must let it go, with a chance of the car falling off the road, or hitting a tree or a power pole, because we have warned you not to accelerate suddenly. 2.2 The cause originates from the rear wheels - Maintaining control will be easier because the symptoms will only be slight. 2.3 The cause affects all 4 wheels - The car will not spin but will go straight forward (even if you turn the wheels, the car will still go straight). Therefore, you still have a slight chance to control it. Try to reduce speed without pressing the accelerator further. Maintain the car's direction.
The important point is: do not press the brake. Because from many tests, most drivers press the brake (in tests, observed by the car's taillights). This is because sudden braking will further increase hydroplaning, as the car tires stop shedding water, thereby further increasing the chance of losing car control.
But an even more important point is: try to avoid the chance of hydroplaning as much as possible. Because even professional drivers find it difficult to control the car. Especially when driving in the rain, cars should be driven at a speed not exceeding 95 km/h, and do not accelerate or decelerate suddenly.
What is hydroplaning or the hydroplaning phenomenon? It is when something spins over a layer of water or dirt such as mud or sludge on the road surface, causing a loss of control. This includes everything like acceleration, cornering, or even braking, due to the friction between the car's tires and the road...
